Photograph, Glenham Railway Staff with Engine

About this object

This is a photograph of the Glenham Railway Engine No 8 with railway staff. In 1927, Janet Frame's family moved to Glenham, and as their railway house was not ready they lived in 3 huts, spending their first winter there - one of the coldest ever recorded in Southland. The family later moved to Edendale and on to Wyndham were they settled from 1928-1931, with Janet's father eventually becoming an engine driver.

We are not sure of the names of the men in the photograph, but two have been suggested: Pentecost and Howes. We wonder if further research might discover George Frame here too?
