About this object

This shield was awarded to the top Boys and Girls Agricultural Clubs at schools within the Southland region. Thomas Bros of Invercargill donated the shield to the New Zealand Institution of Horticulture, Southland, who ran competitions for the clubs. Lora George School first won the shield in 1930. In 1942 the Institute retired the shield after Glenham School became the final recipient.
