Mangle, Small Tabletop; Unknown manufacturer; 1870-1890; WY.0000.1170

Name/Title

Mangle, Small Tabletop

About this object

This is a small mangle with clamps which would allow it to be secured to any suitable surface. Interestingly, the top screw, which adjusts the pressure, is wooden, so we can assume it is an earlier model than those with metal screws. Similarly, the rollers are wooden rather than the later rubber which was used, ensuring that buttons could pass through without being squashed.
