This is a framed and glazed photographic reproduction of a watercolour of Balaclava Street, Wyndham in 1880. The photograph was purchased by Margaret Allan (great-granddaughter of David Doull, Wyndham) from the Alexander Turnbull Library in the early 1990s.

The work is a piece by Southland artist R.P. McGoun who painted scenes of Invercargill and Bluff in the 1880s.
