Name/Title

Horse Collar, Small Leather

About this object

This is a leather horse collar. A collar is used to distribute the load around a horse's neck and shoulders when pulling a load. The collar allows the horse to use its full strength, essentially enabling the animal to push forward with its hindquarters into the collar. We believe that this collar was used on a driving horse which pulled a buggy.
