About this object

This card has been made in the shape of a chef. It was produced by W. Irvine, baker and pastrycook from Edendale and Wyndham and was given in appreciation for using their services. The card contains two papers of household needles adhered to the inside. There is also a verse written on the inner:

'Our bread once tasted never wasted.
It's as good as the best and better than most,
and if it gets stale, makes dandy toast'.
