Archival Ledgers belonging to R. G. and M. L. Matthews:

One brown hard covered ledger 1967 - 1976

A comprehensive inventory of the expenses occurred by the Matthew's family, including stock on hand, stock bought and sold and other information relevant to the family.

As well as the financial records there are other items of interest in the ledger including Livestock Schedule 1974, several newspaper cuttings including one on 15 October 1994: Past Times column has a story on Lillian Matthews who was awarded the Queen's Badge, the top award in guiding (she was Mary and Roger Matthews daughter).

One cream coloured ledger 1977-2003

The ledger has a complete summary of incoming and outgoing expenses for the Matthews, a list of stock, cars, appliances etc and includes LMVD change of ownership for a car., receipts, withholding tax certificate, notice of staff reunion of MacGibbon and Co. Ltd., several death notices and a story on the Opinion/Editorial page by Kathie Henderson which appeared in the Southland Times. There are other write ups and death notices in the ledger.
