Dance Card, Third Annual Debutante BallAbout this object
This is a dance card from the third annual Wyndham Plunket Society Debutante Ball which took place at the Wyndham Town Hall on on 2 May 1956.
Women used dance cards to record the names of gentleman who had invited them to dance at a formal ball. This dance card has initials marked for eight of the dances. Though we are unsure who this dance card belonged to, it would appear that she danced with two of the same men at least twice.
Interestingly, on the reverse of 12 of the dances are different women's names, perhaps collected as souvenirs:
organic, processed material, vegetal, paper, card
organic, processed material, animal product, silk
inorganic, processed material, metal, nickel
