These are items pertaining to Mr David Townley a farmer from Coalpit Road, Menzies Ferry. The Townley home was the first house on the right on Coal Pit Road and was farmed by the Townleys from 1919-1920.

The BNZ bank books run from 1919-1925, 1925-1930,
1931-1937 and 1937-1943. Inside the covers are handwritten notes by Mr Townley, eg 70 bullocks at 3/6 on Monday 2 August; Ryder's horse and foal came.

The book minus the cover dates from 1924-1935.

The black cash book is dated 1935-1943.
