About this object

This book once belonged to Dr. James Henderson Baird. Wyndham's doctor for over fifty years. His rural practice stretched from Tuturau to Tokonui. Fondly remembered as a kindly man with a 'good bedside manner' he loved to play tennis in his spare time.

In the front of this book Dr Baird has neatly written various notes on mammary tumours, and has also underlined various passages. The book is subtitled 'Manuals for Students of Medicine' so we may assume it was a useful text book.
