In this postcard, the prominent building on the left is the McKay's two-storied brick building. As well as groceries McKays stocked drapery, millinery, fancy goods, china, footwear, ironmongery, and hardware. A toy shop was upstairs.
The main street of Wyndham, Balaclava Street, once had many shops and businesses including a butcher, a bakery, a fancy bread and biscuit baker, dairies, fruiterers, tearooms, fish shops, drapers and banks.
The message on the card reads:
