Certificate, Pte Edward Eunson WW2About this object
Mr E.G. Eunson (Ted) arrived in Wyndham on the day that Hitler invaded Poland but had trouble in building up a clientele for his plumbing business. It took 18 months before Mr Eunson had sufficient work.
His first workshop was in Balaclava Street near the Athenaeum and was very small.
Later, he built the store Nimo and Blair opposite RM McKay and Co store. He converted the building to provide a residence at the front and a plumbing workshop at the back. Shortly after this, Mr Eunson was called up for war service. He put a notice in the paper to say that his business would close and re-open when the war ended.
