Mould, Suppository

About this object

This is a suppository mould set, consisting of a 60 and 120 grain stainless steel mould. A suppository is a solid dosage form of medication that is inserted into the rectum (rectal suppository), vagina (vaginal suppository), or urethra (urethral suppository), where it dissolves or melts and exerts local or systemic effects. Pharmacists use these moulds to create the suppository.

The set possibly came from the old Wyndham pharmacy in Balaclava Street. This was the United Friendly Society Dispensary, known as the UFS.
