Yoke, Wooden Bucket Carrier
About this objectThis wooden yoke came from the Holms property at Waimahaka. It was used by dairy workers to help them carry two heavy milk buckets at a time. The yoke fitted behind the neck, and the weight was taken across the shoulders. The buckets were hung on chains.
