4/10/2016 WY2016.1.1 WY 1601 2 February 2016 Gift Textiles Long white cotton baby gown. Lace and embroidered collar, lace duffs to long sleeves. Lace 1/4 belt stitched to front with self fabric tie at either end. Cord at neck edge for fastening centre back opening. 6 (10) H 790, W 620 mm Cotton. Fair. Damage to stitching on both shoulders. Staining of front skirt. Damage to right front hem. Area of holes at back on left side of opening. Several other small holes. Edendale Baby gowns have been washed using Napisan prior to their being accessioned into the collections. One of the gowns is a christening gown, both over 100 years old [i.e. early 1900s]. The pillow shams are embroidered, belonged to Mrs McElhinney. Pantaloons are crutchless. On display in Gallery 2 Box 103 Erene McElhinney Yes
