About this object

This badge was specially designed for New Zealand service personnel who were resident in the United Kingdom in the early stages of WWI. These New Zealanders formed a unit of the original New Zealand Expeditionary Force (NZEF). The badge later became recognised and accepted as the 'universal' badge and was worn by the New Zealand Contingent in the Empire Parade on November 9, 1915 in London.
