About this object
This photograph is of Harold James Kiddey (12801), a local man who was killed during World War Two. The son of Harold Ernest and Ethel May Kiddey (nee Maddrun), of Christchurch, Harold was working at a Flaxmill in Redan when he enlisted.
Harold served with the 26th Battalion in the Western Desert as a Driver. He was killed in action on November 27, 1941, aged 30, and is buried in the Halfaya Sollum War Cemetery, Egypt 16. A. 10.
