Child's Pedal CarAbout this object
Child's pedal car; consists of steel wheels, two steel struts side by side for the body and sheet steel cowling curved over the front. The remnants of a steering wheel column exist, which is articulated to a steel strap steering rack. A nut on top of the bonnet simulates the radiator cap. A sheet steel bucket seat is positioned over the rear axle. The rear axle has two cranks in it, possibly for the pedal mechanism.
The Hayes family was very inventive and resourceful and the engineering works was perfect for assembling toys for the children.
