About this object
Photograph; in black and white, showing George Low and a young girl with two lambs. George Low is seated on the verandah of Fyffe House.
George Low was the last owner and occupant of Fyffe House who bequeathed the property to the New Zealand Historic Places Trust on his death on 1980. George was known to be a quick tempered man and a recluse. He was a fisherman, but also kept cows, hens, and sheep, which he butchered himself on the back porch.
