About this object
Teapot; with a separate lid and angled handle, with a bright yellow glaze and gilt border around the rim, spout and lid edge. The spout is chipped, with the chip present within the teapot. The base has a green mark and the text TRADE MARK / CROWN DUCAL WARE / MADE IN ENGLAND.
This teapot belonged to Maud Low, and sat on the kitchen table at Fyffe House. The Low family occupied Fyffe House from about the 1920s. They initially let the property off Jimmy Johnston, a whaler who had built a whaling factory at South Bay.
