About this object

The Cyclist badge is a specialty proficiency badge Scouts could earn and in use between 1907 and 1967 both here in New Zealand and throughout the British commonwealth. At one stage it was also known as the Messenger badge. This display has 11 examples differing in manufacture, materials and colour shades. The early ones are unnamed handmade on felt, later they were named on felt, woven on ribbon, and backed and bound.
