This is a photograph of the 1927 Gore Gaiety Gala which was held for the whole last week of August to celebrate what was great about the town.

The programme included an opening procession, led by Mayor D McDougall, featured displays by the Fire Brigade and Power Board, military displays, and processions from "talented people" including a band.

The town was described as being converted into "Fairyland" by the entire week of joy.
