About this object

This glass cereal bowl dates from the 1950s and was made to promote Fleming and Company of Gore's, Creamoata breakfast cereal. At the bottom of each was the Company’s branding character ‘Sergeant Dan’. Bowls featured Sergeant Dan performing a series of different activities; children ate their bowl of Creamoata to see what the picture at the bottom of the plate was. Here Sergeant Dan is depicted diving into water.
