About this object

The bottom of the belt has a line of orange coloured possum fur balls, then long plaited strips with thirty or so black and brown hairy pigs tails hanging from them.

According to notes made by the Lutheran Church, red painted sporrans of pig's tails such as this are worn by the Wage Enga group of people from the Papua New Guinea Highlands, over loinclothes.
