About this object

This work is based on the Toby jug tradition, which was popularised in England in the 1760s. Updating the Toby for today’s New Zealander, Paul Rayner has immortalised a number of local personalities as Tobies, including Carmen – Wellington and now Sydney’s most infamous and well-loved Maori drag queen and transsexual.
