About this object

During the 1980s Lee Anderson operated a knit wear business in Wellington, inspired by her own love of knitting. She employed over 100 home based hand-knitters to realise her original designs which included full length mohair coats and sweaters, some of which included over 50 colours. She sold to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Crown Prince of Thailand, the Queen of Spain, and her knits were worn on the Cosby Show and Good Morning America. She has written a number of books on knitting, the first of which is You Knit, Unique. Lee Andersen moved to the United States of America in the late 1980s. Today she is located in Laurel Maryland, where she continues to operate her own clothing business.
