First Causeway at Mangawai Village

About this object

A view of the first causeway at Mangawai Village looking towards Coal Hill and Black Swamp Road. It had a wooden bridge on the Mangawai Village end of Insley Street.

This causeway was known as the Filling in earlier times. There were gum stores at the Black Swamp Road and Coal Hill Road, end of the causeway. William Sarah (known as Bill) had a gum store there.
