About this object

A ladies 2 piece suit. These two items make up a ladies pink acrylic suit in a square patterned fabric. It has a lapel collar with 5 square pink buttons down the front of the jacket. The skirt is an A -line style, lined with a white silk petticoat with lace at the hem. An inside label reads 'Chavalor Crylor. Fil Acrylique 100% 'Made in France'. In good condition.
This suit was worn by Miss Mamie Reid who lived in Australia. She was a concert pianist by profession. There are two photos in the museum collection which show Miss Reid playing at the Lae area in New Guinea in 1945, as a part of the Dick Bentley Concert Party. She was a cousin of George Forrest Reid who lived in Te Arai/Tomarata area.
