Photo is taken in front of rock at Hannah's Bay, which was the first sandy bay north of surf beach at Mangawai Heads.
The Bream Tail Walkway is above this bay.
Alfred Wharfe and Dora Wharfe purchased land from John Hannah in 1907. Members of the Wharfe family owned the land until 1976.
