The anchor stone was used by Maori. It has an uncompleted hole at the narrow end.
Maree Flavell is the grand-daughter of Archibald Claude Coyte and wished to see the anchor stones kept in the Mangawhai area as her family reside in this district.
Was given to Archibald Claude Coyte who had a timber yard in Auckland.
His company also owned forests around the North Island. The anchor stone was given as a gift from Maori Iwi around the Marokopa area (Te Kuiti) and Patea.
