Bullock Yoke; 852
Bullock Yoke
About this object
A wooden yoke for two bullocks. It has two steel loops which went around the bullocks necks. There is a ring in the middle of the yoke that was attached to the centre chain. In excellent condition.
This yoke was owned by Morris Leslie (son of Andrew John Leslie). He worked for Bill Mooney, who was a bush contractor in the Mangawhai, Hakaru, and Kaiwaka area 1919 - 1920. Logs were taken from the bush, by bullock teams, to the top end of the Mangawhai estuary, and then floated out to the scows.
