About this object

2 Crosscut saws or Pit Saws used mainly on Kauri trees in the Mangawhai Area.The teeth, of the saw, are named as Kauri Drag tooth pattern. The teeth are slanted, half in one direction, half in the other, the purpose being to allow both men the same amount of effort on each stroke. Both saws have wooden handles at either end. In excellent condition.
