Ship's anchor; a very large, iron anchor with attached anchor chain.
While trawling off Long Point in 1956, Maurice Hall of Port Chalmers recovered the anchor. It may have come from Captain Hayward's 'Bessie' or another sailing vessel of the late 19th century.
