About this object

Postcard book; a book of black and white photographic postcards of Saint-Omer, France. Sent home to Otago during World War One, by Charles J Hayward.

Inscribed inside the front cover is a short message: "This is a very pretty village not far from Hazebrouck. I have been here many times. It is not yet within range of the German guns. The church is very historic and dates back to about the 12th century. The carvings on the organ are the best I have ever seen. CJH".
