About this object

Cattle marking kit; a small kit of tools used to tag or tattoo cattle on their ears. The kit includes a pair of 'Elastrators' for inserting rubber rings; a pair of tattooing forceps, with a brush for applying dye, and 13 number and letters; three sets of instructions, printed on red paper; and two shearing cutters.

All are contained within a wooden box with hinged lid. Inside the lid is a paper label reading: "Manufactured by the Farm-acy, Stock Identification Specialists, makers of earmarks, brands of all kinds, tattoos, tail tags, farm-acy eartags etc etc".
