Pot, cookingAbout this object
Cooking pot; a small, cast-iron pot. This has three legs, a hanging lug at each side and a removable lid.
This type of pot was used for open-hearth cooking. It needed to be three-legged because any object with four legs would not sit comfortably on uneven ground. The hanging lugs hooked into an iron bar or crane, in order to suspend it over a fire.
