About this object

Detailed specifications for the building of a butter factory for the Owaka Dairy Company.

The site is at Owaka convenient to the railway station and intending tenderers are requested to visit the site and make inquiries re cost of board and lodging for men and freight.

Specifications cover site excavation, foundations, floors, paving, carpenter & joiner requirements, plumber, painter and glazier, and alternate tenders for brickwork.

Under ‘Alternate Tenders’, a paragraph reads, ‘If contractors consider they can build cheaper in concrete than brick, they may give an alternate price for concrete walls instead of for brick walls.’
