Photograph; a black and white image of the home of Captain Charles Hayward, at Catlins Heads. The image shows a small wooden cottage with the family gathered outside. They have been identified as follows, from left: John, Capt. Hayward, Bessie, Mrs Hayward (nee Agnes Lees), Frank, Andrew and Charles.

Captain Hayward was harbour master and pilot from 1872-1887.
