About this object

Iron; an early electric iron, dating to about the 1940s. The iron is made of metal, enamel and black plastic, with a green and black-covered cord. Behind the handle is a thermostat function, the knob from which has been replaced with a home-made, wooden disk. The iron also features a light at the base of the handle, presumably related to the thermostat.
