About this object

Christening gown; Exquisitely hand-stitched and detailed gown with Ayrshire needlework inserts on bodice and skirt, tucks on skirt. Bodice lined with muslin, fastened at back with two cotton drawstring ties.

Has petticoat of fine [linen?], machine-stitched, with narrow shoulder straps, tucks and lace edging (see CT78.906).
