About this object

Christening gown; hand-stitched fine linen gown fully-lined bodice and sleeves using a thicker cotton fabric. Swiss embroidery trim and inset of lace on skirt. Ties at waist. Back opening fastened with three linen-covered buttons and handmade cotton loops, cotton drawstring ties at waist and neck.

Possibly this gown was made for a winter Christening.
