About this object

Christening gown; handstitched gathered cotton skirt with picket braiding at hem, attached to machine stitched bodice of heavier cotton which is a whiter colour. Bodice has lace, Swiss embroidery frills and whitework panel. Cotton tape drawstring ties on inside of sleeves, back opening is fastened with drawstring ties at neck and waist.

It appears that the skirt could be from another gown.
