Glass plate, souvenir of 1949 Anzac Royal Tour which was to be the first tour of NZ by a reigning monarch, cancelled due to King George VI's poor health. The King later died and his daughter Queen Elizabeth II visited in 1953-54.
Many souvenirs were made especially for the 1949 tour.
The Tour party was to be; King George VI, Queen Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth the Queen-mother) and Princess Margaret.
