Subject and Association DescriptionThis butter box is made from Kahikatea or White Pine so that the butter would not be flavoured in any way. It is 16cm x 11cm x 11.05cm with four slats nailed on the longer sides and the base. The stamping on the two ends state the words Lockerbie, New Zealand Produce and Pure Creamery Butter. There is the registration number 330 as well as the patent number 56302. Boxes such as this were used to carry butter made at the Morrinsville Dairy Company Ltd circa 1930 - 1934.
