Commemorative cushion cover

About this object

Commemorative cushion cover depicting a scene from the town of Ypres in Belgium. The scene is painted with a town engulfed in flames 'Ypres' is written in the sky. Surrounding this is a wreath of flowers made with ribbons, in pink, poppy red and yellow with green embroidered foliage. The main material is white satin. The hem has green braid with a 10.5cm wide piece of lace attached. A pink silk ribbon bow is attached at each corner, the back has a pale blue slip for a cushion. This was brought back from WW1 by John Reynard.
