Baby gown
About this objectWhite cotton, long- sleeved, completely hand stitched gown. Square neckline is drawn by white cotton tape. Neck edge is trimmed with a gathered ruffle and casing is made with a trim of coral stitched tape. Body of garment is gathered to this neck edge as is sleeve cap. Back placket is fastened only by tie at neck. Sleeves are trimmed at cuff with tightly gathered frill, when cuff is turned back a row of coral stitching along cuff edge is exposed. The skirt is gored from the armpit. Self ties are attached to either end of a broderie anglaise band sewn over the front waist, band is trimmed with coral stitch, ties and hem are plain. Plain hem is coral stitched over hem join.
