About this object

Dress sword and scabbard which belonged to 13/148 Colonel James Neil McCarroll who was in the Auckland Mounted Rifles 1916-1920. 1. Steel two edge sword, with large brass cross guard (with edges flaring out) and wire covered handle grip with round pommel at end. 2. Red leather scabbard with brass top and tip. Top has decorative catch to hang sword from belt.
