About this object

One pair of cased binoculars used in WW1 by Franklin McKenzie of Whangaroa. Binoculars are different make to the case. 1. Binoculars are stamped with 'D.F.03 Dienstglas Nr.1283 U.F.' one eye piece and 'OIGEE BERLIN Vergr.6x D.R.P'. 2. Leather case/satchel for the binoculars have straps that can attach to belts etc.. and is stamped with 'I. French and Son ltd. London 1917 M *↑'. Written overtop is '12/3403 Auckland Batt.'.
