Booklet, WW1 'Souvenir of the soldiers' Mascot' dated 1st September 1917. 22 pages of stories and pictures written by Mr Rutherford (The Little Bootmaker). Mr Rutherford was the mascot of ten reinforcements, equalling 20,000 soldiers, in their march over the Rimutaka Hill. The booklet was found in Walter Vaughan's house after he passed away. 1947030 Spr. Walter Vaughan served with the Royal Engineers Pioneer Corps in Egypt as a cook during WW2.
