About this object

Cream silk hand embroidered parasol with thin cane handle with hook at end. Metal spokes make the frame, which is hidden by a cream silk lining. The outside embroidery is dark and light brown holly berry motifs. The fabric is hand stitched to the frame. The handle has an Ivory tip at the top of the parasol. A fabric covered spring is used at top of parasol to open the mechanism. The parasol was held closed by a cream silk plaited braid which has dissapeared leaving only a small metal button.
